X WING City Bike Seat

I have a lower back injury that constantly interferes with my bike riding. I first purchased a great suspension seat post from Safort that helped extend my riding time a fair amount. In the quest for more riding time, I next turned to the saddle itself.I also have an indoor exercise bike and noticed my back did not complain as much after the same amount of time on the bike. The indoor bike has a very wide 14 inch saddle so I went to Amazon looking for a wide saddle for my Cannondale 29er.Saddles are generally something you want to try before you buy, but I got super lucky with this X Wing City saddle. It fits perfect and is very comfortable for my 6ft 200lb frame. I immediately noticed a difference in the amount of strain on my lower back and perineum. The saddle is nice and level unlike other models I have seen. The width does not interfere with my pedal stroke and the saddle is still very sporty. The padding is not super plush but more than enough if you wear padded cycle shorts. It is still a step up from my old Serfas Dorado saddle (which was much more comfortable than the factory Cannondale saddle). The roughly 9inch width makes a world of difference reducing pressure points without feeling too wide.Better still, this saddle has a fairly standard underside with a fairly long rail and adjustment markings. The underside has a plastic style shock absorber and the saddle is not too thick or heavy for its size.I was able to fit a snap on style saddle bag under the X Wing. This style saddle bag actually has a piece that gets bolted to the saddle rail. I was very glad the bag fit as I don't see many wide saddles accommodating this style saddle bag.The X Wing has a crazy low price versus most other options and the quality is surprisingly good. Don't let the low price turn you away. More expensive is not always better.I highly recommend this saddle and combination to anyone looking to reduce back and glutes pain while still maintaining a sporty ride.

I like the look of the seat. This is definitely "what the doctor ordered" so to speak as I've had lower spine and tailbone injury years ago that is painful on a regular seat. The cutout is what I use that works for riding. However this came used in a plastic bag and sold as new. The seat is hard and a bit smallish for a large man's butt and not quite right on an ebike in an upright position so 4 stars. I would say worth a try for a smaller man under 225 and a street bike posture

I had a serious surgery back there (no not the kind that Prep H can help with) and I thought that I would never ride again. I am a thin person I am not heavy [180lb] and I don't have much natural cushioning. This seat is incredible and it is not overly soft. A good bicycle seat should be firm and compliant. This seat is perfect for me in that regard. I have the touring version. That may be the right type of riding that suits this seat design the best.I am very happy and I will by one for my other bicycle when it is time to replace that seat. Try it out!
